From Zoom fatigue to webinar overload to the inevitable mute button mix-up, we have both experienced and felt the spectrum of communication technology this year. But what about the virtual classroom? At YET, the growth mindset is omnipresent and we couldn’t resist going to swim in a seemingly limitless pool of online courses, which allowed us to create our own classroom at home and in the park.


While, of course, there isn’t enough space here to list absolutely all of the courses that captivated us, we’d like to share a selection of them to reignite your thirst for learning and exploration going forward into the new year...

We are already brimming with excitement to crack open our YET theme of ikigai, or purpose, with you in 2021. Get a head start on reflection and introspection through this course on finding meaning in life, who you are, and what you do.


Computer Programming for Everyone - Institute of Coding at the University of Leeds, FutureLearn

If you know coding is the future but aren’t sure where to start, this course is for you. Learn what the various coding languages are, what problems they can solve, and how they can be applied. Then, use your new knowledge to write your first computer programs.


Writing and Editing: Word Choice and Word Order - University of Michigan, Coursera

You can have the best ideas in the world but if you’re not able to articulate them on paper to others, you’ll be stuck. Learn to harness your original words positively in your favor.

Wellbeing is at the crux of YET’s perspective on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking. With that comes the integration of mindfulness. Learn what mindfulness entails and how to practice it to increase your sense of presence, stretch your focus and attention, and boost your resilience.



Although these online courses don’t explicitly scream ‘entrepreneurship’, we view their topics as imperative to entrepreneurial mindset and skill development over time, thus enhancing your ability to practice entrepreneurship in a business sense.
